HOSTEL AND CAMPING ACCOMMODATION

Arthur Vincent House

Hostel and camping accommodation is available in the heart of the National Park for groups visiting the area. This facility is solely for the use of groups visiting the Park for voluntary work projects, to participate in field activities provided by Killarney National Park Education Centre, or other educational purposes - please contact us for more details.

Arthur Vincent House is Killarney National Park's self-catering hostel. It is situated in the beautiful Muckross area, approximately five minutes walk from Muckross House itself, and fifteen minutes walk from the main Kenmare Road at the Muckross Park Hotel, although visiting groups can drive right to the door of the hostel.

The hostel sleeps 24 persons in total, broken into three dormitories of six, one dormitory of four, and a two bedded leader's room. There is also an adjacent walled-in camping area for any extra group members (see below). The building is centrally heated throughout and the hostel kitchen comes fully equipped.

Camp Site

Arthur Vincent Camping Field is a walled in camping area adjacent to the hostel. The main entrance to the field itself is a large sliding gate which allows vehicles to enter the field if necessary.

The facilities in the field include a covered area with electric lighting, which can be used for cooking and equipment storage. WC's and wash-hand basins are located in the field and it may be possible to use the showers and hot water in Arthur Vincent Hostel if it is unoccupied. There is a site for campfires within the field, and an abundant supply of firewood nearby.
